SCARIEST SCARY SCAR !!! [ Part 1- Introduction ]

THIS IS SPARTA !!!! A quote over-used all over the net~~~
So here comes mine - THIS IS SCARY !!!! hahahaha

If you see the real thing pointing at you, you're rather get kick in the balls (although I don't) and you'll wet your pants.

Oh! Did I forget to mention that it's the uber cool looking rifle which made it famous showcase in Ghost Recon: Advance Warriors (GRAW) and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of Patriots (MGS4).

Told you it was scary. Before we proceed, let's do some fun fact (lesson).

The SOF Combat Assault Rifle,[3] or SCAR, is a modular rifle made by Fabrique Nationale de Herstal (FNH) for the U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) to satisfy the requirements of the SCAR competition. This family of rifles consist of two main types. The SCAR-L, for light, is chambered in the 5.56x45mm NATO cartridge and the SCAR-H, for heavy, fires 7.62x51mm NATO ammunition. Both are available in further variants such as Long Barrel or CQC (Close Quarters Combat). The FN SCAR system completed low rate initial production testing in June 2007 and was scheduled for limited fielding in the fall of 2007.

1:1 scale SCAR-L  (means its the real deal)

He comes the 1/6 scale comes into play. Because of the hype by collectors/customizers. Few manufacturer dip their hand into the competitions. First off was by ACE, a japanese company which first show case their version of SCAR in their box set US NAVY SEAL TEAM 10.

Soon after, collectors/customizers around the globe demand sky-rocketed. Due to the unrealistic to buy the whole set just for the rifle. This set doesn't sell well due to lack of other gears for its price tag.

Hot Toys quickly introduced their line of Modern military line which featured Mk-16 SCAR in their 75th Ranger Box Set. This received a mixed reviews from fellow 1:6 citizens. Walking down the same path as ACE. Given the tradition on HT which will eventually re-release their weapon in their Modern Firearms series but with slight detail changed.

A godsent solution were quickily come to the rescue by 2 other company call Toy Soldiers (TS) and Merit International Ltd (MiL). Both company offered rifle sets only with other smaller detail parts that accompanied with the rifle.

Firstly was by Toy Soldier, a struggling company that always being over-swadowed by the big-gun such as Hot Toys (HT), finally make its red carpet entry that also gave a slap-on-the-face at HT. They features only the rifle set which gave the gimmickof the real thing to the spot.

Given the huge excitements and well receive by fellow 1/6 citizens. MiL quickily announced their version which showcase 2 SCAR rifles in a single carded-set. One black and one tan colored rifles with other accompanienment. This created a huge "hu-has" among 1:6 citizens again.

Around the same time, Hot Toys (HT) too have announced their brand of SCAR in their Modern Firearms Collections Vol.4 which also showcasing different version of SCAR with other weapons as well.

This time around, HT came in bit too late in the game with their release while TS and MiL already flood the market with their releases. While HT are viewed as the powerhouse of superb quality control, recent economic depressions too have felt by 1:6 citizens. An alternative to get the desire choice of rifles rather than getting the whole set are either from ebay or other mean of sources such as other online sales portals. Hardcore fans (like me) will still get their hand on this set.

Stay tune for the upcoming review on MiL, TS and HT in part II (2, dues whatever you call it)
